What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician

As an Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, you’ll be integral to our multi-year project in Glendale, CO, and on additional projects in nearby areas such as Aurora, Lakewood, and Englewood. Your role is to support journeyman electricians in executing electrical tasks essential to the construction and development of commercial spaces. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment, setting the foundation for a rewarding career in electrical work.

Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician

Assist with Electrical Installations

Your primary responsibility will be to assist journeyman electricians with installing wiring, conduit, and electrical fixtures on various commercial construction projects. You’ll learn to safely pull and terminate wire runs and install electrical boxes, ensuring all installations meet industry standards.

Execute Blueprint Instructions

You’ll follow detailed blueprints to help install and maintain electrical infrastructure. This involves setting up temporary power systems and ensuring that all components are connected and functioning correctly. Precision is key, as you’ll be tasked with completing assignments efficiently and accurately.

Basic Troubleshooting and Repairs

Under the guidance of experienced electricians, you’ll perform basic troubleshooting and repairs. This includes diagnosing issues and implementing fixes, which will enhance your problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.

Maintain Tools and Work Areas

Keeping your tools and materials organized is essential for workflow efficiency. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a tidy work environment, which helps ensure safety and productivity on the job site.

Adhere to Safety Practices

You’ll work in active construction environments, so strict adherence to safety practices and regulations is non-negotiable. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and staying informed about site-specific safety protocols.

Additional Activities

• Participate in daily briefings and progress meetings to stay informed and aligned with project goals.
• Engage in continuous learning by observing and assisting with complex installations and repairs.
• Support the setup and breakdown of job sites, ensuring tools and materials are securely stored and ready for the next task.

What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician

Required Qualifications

To join our team, you must have a valid Electrical Trainee Card from the CA Department of Industrial Relations. While at least one year of experience as an Apprentice Electrician is preferred, your willingness to learn and grow in the field is equally important.
