Overview of Fire Protection Junior Project Manager Role

As a Fire Protection Junior Project Manager in the Fire Alarm environment at Convergint, you will play a crucial role in managing fire alarm projects from conception to completion. You will work closely with senior project managers, clients, and team members to ensure that all fire protection systems are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Essential Functions

• Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, execution, and closing of fire alarm projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
• Budget Management: Assist in the budgeting process, ensuring that projects are completed within financial limits. Monitor project expenditures and report any variances.
• Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules using project management software. Coordinate with various departments and clients to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Ensure all project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Communication: Facilitate regular project meetings with stakeholders to provide project updates and ensure alignment. Address any issues or concerns promptly.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all fire protection systems meet company standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts.
• Certification Maintenance: Maintain current knowledge of fire protection standards and certifications, such as CAPM and PRINCE2.

Required Qualifications

• 0-2 years of electrical experience in a related field.
• Valid electrical license for Arizona.
• Proficiency with estimating tools and design software.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and installing equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in fire protection.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
• Previous experience working on fire alarm projects.
• CAPM or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Neighboring cities include Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale.
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard business hours. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
